The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams concluded the fall season with strong and even a few surprising performances at the Texas Tech University Rodeo.
The SPC women finished the event, which was held Oct. 27 – Oct. 29 in Lubbock, with 360 points. Earning points were freshman Jenna Dallyn with 150 points, freshman Avery Gonzales with 30 points, freshman Kashley Seitz with 70 points and freshman Sierra White with 10 points.
In the Goat Tying event, Dallyn posted a time of 7.8 seconds in the long run and 7.6 seconds in the short run, placing second. Gonzales posted a time of 8 seconds in the long run and 8.3 seconds in the short run, finishing in a tie for seventh.
In the Barrel Racing event, Seitz posted a time of 15.98 seconds in the long run and 15.91 seconds in the short run, placing fourth. White posted a time of 15.94 seconds in the long run and 16.60 seconds in the short run, finishing ninth.
Earning points for the SPC men were freshman Jhett Trenary and freshman Jose Domenigo.
In the Team Roping event, Trenary and Domenigo posted a time of 6.1 seconds in the long run and 5.3 seconds in the short run, placing third.
