Music, lights and Santa.

Children of all ages came to South Plains College on Nov. 29 to attend the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and see the jolly man himself, Santa.

The event lit up campus buildings and grassy areas with lighted displays,

ranging from reindeer to graham cracker houses.

Refreshments included festive cookies, cut and decorated like Christmas trees, snowmen, and stars. Great Western Dining also provided hot chocolate for all who attended the event in the Student Center.

A horse-drawn carriage was available for tours to see the lights around the Levelland campus. Viewers were also encouraged to walk, or drive, around campus to see the displays.

The crowd gathered for joyful music, performed by the SPC band. The SPC Ballroom Dance Team also performed a swing-like routine to the classic, “Frosty the Snowman.”

Inside the Sundown Room, children were able to sit and have a chat with Santa. From tears to laughter, the experience of meeting Santa was one these kids will not forget. After telling Santa what is on their “list”, children were given stuffed bears and candy canes offered by the SPC Cheerleaders.

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting decorated SPC in the most festive way.
