You could have the chance to win Garth Brook concert tickets, all while helping out a good cause.
The Physical Therapist Assistant Student Organization at South Plains College is hosting a raffle for two tickets to an upcoming Garth Brooks concert. Proceeds will go toward the funds for their annual Texas Physical Therapy Association conference in Corpus Christi in the fall.
The tickets being raffled are for the April 1 show at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock. Tickets are on sale until March 26 at $10 each, or three for $25, and can be bought from any Physical Therapy Assistant student, or by emailing Jackie Underwood, director of the PTA program, at junderwood@southplainscollege.edu.
The winner does not need to be present to receive the tickets.
The Physical Therapist Assistant Student Organization (PTASA) is a student organization for PTA students at SPC.
According to Shelby Nail-Melton, president of the PTASA, the organization’s mission is “to develop our students professionally by giving them valuable leadership experience outside of learning in the classroom, to better prepare them for the workforce, and to contribute to the profession of Physical Therapy through the professional association that exists.”
The proceeds of the raffle tickets will go toward sending 17 SPC students to the annual TPTA conference. While at the conference, the students will get the chance to view the latest technology in treatment, and sit in on many different presentations about medical and ethical concerns in the field.
“[The conference] is a significant opportunity for our students to grow and learn from others already practicing,” said Nail-Melton.
The PTASA will also host a golf tournament in Lubbock this spring. For more information on the tournament, contact Rani Hanfeld at ptasagolfclassic@gmail.com, or Shelby Nail-Melton at shelbynail@icloud.com.
