It’s official. The men’s and coed intramural basketball leagues have come to an end for the semester. The championship games were played on the evening of March 1.

As you see in the first photo, mens’ champion include: Andres Garza, Kolby Head, Ali Kodi, Jaden Lemons, Venny Lopez, Louis Ogbole, Manuel Rodriguez, Stephen Sotelo, and Manuel Loera. Not pictured are Angel Alcantara, Ty Adams, and C-Roy Aviles. All received champion shirts and bragging rights for the team.

Coed champions, appearing in the second photo, include: C-Andres Garza, Mallary Blocker, Kolby Head, Ali Kodi, Manuel Loera, Venny Lopez, Isabel Martinez, Jasmine Reyna, and Jade Whiting.
According to SPC Recreational Activities Coordinator Dustin Wimmer, outdoor intramural sports leagues will run from March 28 to April 2O. The outdoor leagues offered include 5-on-5 flag football, 7-on-7 kickball, and 4-on-4 sand volleyball.
The week of April 25 will consist of a few one-day tournaments he says. An outdoor 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be offered on April 25. A crossnet volleyball tournament will be offered on April 26 and a spikeball tournament happens on April 27. Wimmer says that will wrap up the spring season before the semester ends.
Wimmer says no summer intramural sports will be offered. So, if you don’t get the chance to participate in these upcoming outdoor leagues or tournaments, you’ll have to wait until fall.
Traditional fall intramural sports include 7-on-7 football and 4-on-4 sand volleyball. These sports leagues are free for any student taking six college credit hours or more. If you want to play, you can sign up on the IMleagues app or on the IMleagues website at www.imleagues.com/southplainscollege
