Professor John Barnes and 53 students of the Criminal Justice Club recently attended the headquarters
of the Texas Department of Public Safety in Lubbock, Texas. As an active club at SPC, Barnes said that
events like these expose SPC students to many “learning opportunities.” The club takes a tour once a
year as part of a recruitment program for the Department of Public Safety. “The trip is to expose our
students to the opportunities that DPS has for them as career options,” Barnes said.
