The one where news photography students take Bokeh photos

Christmas lights, a glass jar, a dark backdrop, a camera, and some patience. That’s what it takes to create a Bokeh photo.

So, what is Bokeh? The term bokeh comes from a Japanese word which has a number of translations.  Most photography websites explain “bokeh” means “blur” or “haze.”

In order to get the blur, students used a large aperture on their cameras. The best shots came from an f 1.8. Students used different cardboard cutouts over their lenses to get hearts or star shapes.

These are the “best of” the bunch.
