It’s a Mood: Students create mood boards for portfolios

Students in COMM 1316 News Photography were given a particularly moody assignment earlier this month.

They were told to choose at least five photos to showcase on a mood board. These are tools that photographers can use to spark inspiration on an upcoming project, or to show a potential client prior to being hired on a project.

For this assignment, students were responsible for choosing the photos and designing the mood board in Adobe InDesign. The parameters were to use photos that were representative of photos they have taken this semester, their style, what photos they would like to take in the future, and photos that compliment each other, design-wise.
