Lumos: Painting with Light

OK, so they weren’t in any of the “Harry Potter” movies.  But it may

have felt like it.  And it certainly looked a little like it.

Students recently learned how to use light wands or tube lights to

“paint” in a dark room.  They also used Christmas lights and flashlights.

To achieve any of these cool effects, it doesn’t take magic.  It takes the

right camera shutter, aperture, and ISO settings.

Students appeared to have fun conjuring whatever their imaginations

inspired.
