Gig Lab 101: Inside SPC Creative Arts Reality Series

South Plains College is taking a behind-the-scenes approach to creative arts education with Gig Lab 101, a student-produced reality-style series that follows the ensemble No Ballads.

The project highlights the day-to-day operations of the Creative Arts Department, bringing together students from multiple disciplines including music, video production, and media. From filming and editing to marketing and performance, students are gaining hands-on experience that reflects real industry work.

Phil Smith, instructor of percussion at South Plains College, leads both the ensemble and the project, helping guide students through the process of creating a fully produced show.
